New Delhi: After Diwali bonanza to government employees, now faculty of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other centrally funded institutes will get a pay hike as the Centre  has decided to review their salaries by taking into account recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

Sources from the Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry said that the salary structure is likely to see an increase of over 16%-20% and faculty members would see an increase of between Rs 20,000 and Rs 40,000 per month, depending on their position and scale.
