Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will flag off the state-wide mega awareness campaign titled ‘Paree Pain Katha Tiye’ (a word for the little angel), which aims to spread awareness on incidents of sexual assaults against minor girls and women in Odisha, today.
As part of the programme, the CM will launch 15 specially-designed chariots named 'Paree Express' which will cover all 30 districts of the State.
The logo and theme song of the mega awareness campaign was unveiled at the State Police Headquarters here on Sunday.
“The awareness campaign aims to prevent sexual abuses of minor girls. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will officially launch the 15-day campaign on Monday,” informed Odisha DGP Sharma after unveiling the logo and theme song of the campaign.
The idea behind the campaign is to sensitise the children, their parents, families and communities about the social evil. The programme will also stress on the need to report such cases and inform people about the laws and punishments for child sexual abuse.
The ‘Paree Express’ will be equipped with LED screens and projectors which will play audio-visuals on women's safety and will create awareness among people on the stringent laws to deal with sexual abuse during its halt in various vulnerable pockets across the State. Leaflets and other printed materials will also be distributed during the campaign.
