Paradip: Cargo operations at the Paradip Port were affected today after stevedoring staff and workers resorted to a cease-work agitation protesting illegal dismissal and transfer of workers.

Sources said more than 2,000 workers and stevedoring staff, engaged in cargo handling at the port, staged protest in front of the offices of stevedoring companies in the prohibited areas of the port. Loader supervisors have also joined the protest in large numbers.    

The agitators have also threatened that they would continue their strike until and unless their issues are resolved permanently.
