Padma Awards 2018: Three from Odisha receive Padma Shri

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Three persons from Odisha, Sisir Purushottam Mishra, Bhabani Charan Pattnaik, Chandra Sekhar Rath (Posthumously) received Padma Shri from President Ram Nath Kovind at a function in New Delhi today.

Sisir Purushottam Mishra and Bhabani Charan Pattnaik bagged the award for Filmmaking and Public Affairs, respectively. Wife of late Chandra Sekhar Rath received the awarded on behalf of the litterateur.

Earlier, eminent sculptor Prabhakar Maharana and master weaver Gobardhan Panika were conferred Padma Shri awards by the President on March 20 while Music director Ilaiyaraaja, Hindustani classical singer Ghulam Mustafa Khan, cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ideologue P Parameswaran received Padma Vibhusan.
