Puri: Acting on the directive of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) has served closure notices on 10 hotels operating near the Puri sea beach.
According to sources, the board served the notices to the hotels as they do not have their own water treatment plant.
Earlier, the hotel owners moved the Orissa High Court after closure notices were served to them and obtained a stay order in the matter.
But the pollution control watchdog served fresh closure notices to the hotels after the completion of the stay period on Friday.
Action on the NGT directive will be taken within two days, said a board official. Meanwhile, the district administration has said it will provide all support to the pollution control board.
