Bhubaneswar: Expressing serious concern over the spread of dengue across the state, the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) has served notices to the health secretary, Urban Development department secretary and collectors of eight districts, including Cuttack, Keonjhar, Bhadra and, Jajpur, asking them to submit a report on the outbreak of the disease.

According to sources, while the commission has given two weeks' time to district collectors, and four weeks to the secretaries of the concerned departments to submit the report.

Meanwhile, the number of dengue patients in the state has increased to 426. The maximum number of dengue cases have been identified in in the mining area of Badbil in Keonjhar district.

While 25 persons from Jagatpur Industrial area in Cuttack have tested positive for dengue, eight persons in the city proper have tested positive for the mosquito borne disease.

The number of dengue patients undergoing treatment at SCB medical college and hospital has reached 36 and one critical patient is undergoing treatment at the ICU of the government-run hospital.
