Odisha woman 'possessed by ghost of husband' narrates hubby's murder

Kendrapada: In a bizarre incident, a woman in Marsaghai area of Kendrapara allegedly possessed by the ghost of her deceased husband has narrated how her hubby was murdered and did not commit suicide.

The deceased identified as Subodh Nayak was found hanging from an electric pole on July 2.  However, after 6 days, family members lodged a complaint alleging Nayak was murdered and to pass it off as a suicide his body was hanged from the electric pole.

What is startling is the fact that villagers claim Nayak's wife, who has been possessed by his dead husband's spirit has narrated the whole incident pointing at a pre-planned murder by Badapalia village resident Tapan Das and his relatives.

It is also alleged that the accused had also suggested the family members of the deceased to cremate the latter's body without informing the police.

Subsequently, villagers gheraoed the Marsaghai Police Station demanding justice for the family of the deceased.

Meanwhile, police have registered a complaint and investigating the case with the help of a scientific team.

Inspector-in-charge of Marsaghai Police Station, Kalindi Behera said, "We have registered a case and an investigation is currently underway. Only after the investigation is complete we can come to a conclusion.”
