Odisha woman gives birth to twins joined at stomach in Nayagarh

Nayagarh: Even as people across the State continue to pray for the wellbeing of Kandhamal conjoined twins who are undergoing treatment at AIIMS in Delhi after their separation surgery, a woman today gave birth to twins joined at stomach at Khalipatana near Sarankula in Nayagarh district.

Sumitra Dutta was admitted to a private Nursing Home in Nayagarh in the morning following labour pain. In the afternoon, she delivered the twins which are joined at stomach. However, the health condition of the twins is reportedly well. They have been shifted to Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack for better treatment.

The newborn twins are girls.
