Cuttack/ Bhubaneswar: Odisha Truck Owners’ Association will not join the proposed nationwide strike called by All India Motor Transport Congress to press for inclusion of diesel under Goods and Services Tax (GST) ambit tomorrow.
The Association members on Sunday announced that they will keep away from the 36-hour nationwide strike that has been called against the disruptive policies under GST and for inclusion of diesel in the new indirect tax’s ambit.
Truck owners and operators in Odisha have informed that the decision to stay away from the strike was taken as they had not received any communication from All India Motor Transport Congress in this regard.
Meanwhile, supplies of commodities including food are likely to be affected due to the proposed country wide token strike.
All India Motor Transport Congress members claim that there is utter confusion, chaos and disruption due to varied policies under GST that are imposed on the road transport sector.
