Jajpur: A class 10 student allegedly committed suicide in Bari of Jajpur district today over poor performance in the Annual Matriculation Examination 2018, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Padmalochan Mallick. Padmalochan reportedly scored 263 marks out of a total 600 in the exam, the results of which were declared today.
Sources said Padmaloachan was devastated over his poor performance and under stress he took the extreme step by consuming insecticides kept in his house.
Critically sick, Padmalochan was initially rushed to Alipur hospital and later shifted to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
