Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today signed 4 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with different agencies for better delivery of healthcare in the State.
The Health and Family Welfare Department, in presence of CM Naveen Patnaik, signed MoUs with Global Healthcare System Private Limited (Kolkata), Centre for Stem Cell Research, Christian Medical College (Vellore), Narayan Hrudayalaya and LV Prasad Eye Institute (Bhubaneswar).
The MoU with Global Healthcare System is for implementation of a digital dispensary project in 14 different places of Nabarangpur district in the first phase which will be later extended to 11 more places based on the results.
The MoUs with Centre for Stem Cell Research and Christian Medical College, Vellore will facilitate treatment of Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anaemia patients in the State.
The State also entered in an agreement with Narayan Hrudayalaya to provide faster and better treatment to children suffering from congenital and rheumatic heart diseases.

Similarly, the State government inked a MoU with the Bhubaneswar-based LV Prasad Eye Institute to provide specialised care to needy children suffering from congenital cataract and retinopathy of prematurity.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Naveen said that the signing of four MoUs with institutions of national repute will help the State in ensuring better delivery of quality healthcare services to the people of Odisha.
