Bhubaneswar: As reports of plastic eggs being sold in the Capital city came to fore, Odisha government today ordered an investigation into the matter.
Health minister Pradip Kumar Amat ordered the Commissioner of Food Safety to find the truth behind the news.
"Sale of plastic eggs came to the notice of the health department following which an investigation into the matter has been ordered. The food safety authorities will collect samples and send them for testing in laboratory," said Amat.
Notably, cases of plastic eggs sale had also led to public outcry in Kerala in October 2016 when some alleged that the eggs being manufactured at factories in China.
