Odisha minister seen at party organised in ‘barred’ area of Puri beach

Puri: The district administration has ordered a probe into violation of environmental norms by organisers of a birthday party at Puri beach which was attended by Odisha Food and Civil Supplies Minister Surya Narayan Patro.

Though there are restrictions on organising party and playing loud music on the beach, questions are being raised on how the birthday party was allowed to be held just 10 meters away from the shore.

Sources informed that it is surprising how the organisers managed to get the permission for the party at the beach.

When Patro was asked about the violation of rules, he stated, “It was a family function organised in front of a hotel.”

Madhusudan Das, Sub Collector, Puri, said, “We have ordered officials to look into the alleged environmental norm violation. Truth can be established only after a probe.”
