Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday increased fares for all categories of passenger buses as per automatic fare adjustment mechanism.
As per a notification issued by the Commerce and Transport department, the fare for ordinary and express buses has been increased by 1 paisa per kilometre, while fare for Deluxe and AC Deluxe category buses has been increased by 2 paise per kilometre.
With this hike coming into effect, the fare for ordinary buses will now be 58 paise per km as against 57 paise per km earlier while the fare of express buses has been increased to 61 paise from 60 paise per km.
Similarly, deluxe category buses will now charge 80 paise per km as against 78 paise earlier and commuters travelling in AC Deluxe buses have to fork out Rs 1.01 instead of the current 99 paise per km, the notification added.
