Bhubaneswar: Senior bureaucrats would no more be allowed to go abroad as frequently with the Odisha Government imposing restrictions on the number of foreign visits that government officials can undertake.
As per the restrictions, senior bureaucrats can visit abroad for a maximum three times during a financial year. The governmnet has also curtailed the number of days for each foreign visit to five, barring the travel time.
Sources said all department secretaries have been directed to ensure that concerned seniors officers do not make frequent foreign visits.
"Officials in-charge of the departments will be eligible to attend events organised in foreign countries. No one else would be allowed during the trip. The officials can only go with the concerned secretary if need arises," said an official.
Besides, no secretary would be allowed to travel abroad during the Assembly session. If urgently needed, officials can go only after necessary permission from the Chief Minister, sources added.
