Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly was today adjourned sine die, three working days ahead of the schedule.

A motion in this regard was moved by government chief whip Ananta Das who said that since the Appropriation Bill has been passed, the House should be adjourned sine die. As such coming four days were holidays for celebration of Utkal Diwas and Ram Navmi festival.

The ongoing budget session of the assembly was scheduled to end on April 7.

The budget session of the assembly was held in two phases. While the first phase of the session was held between February 22 to March 4, the second phase began from March 14 till today.

In this session, the House passed an unanimous resolution authorising the state government to demand hike in the minimum support price (MSP) on paddy and two Bills.
