Bhubaneswar: After absconding for nearly three years from police, an Odia IT professional who works in London was nabbed at Bhubaneswar airport today on charges of dowry harassment and physically torturing his wife.
As per sources, the accused, Sambit Nayak of Tankapani road in Bhubaneswar was charged with torturing his wife for dowry in 2015. His wife had lodged a complaint at the Mahila Police Station.
The police could not apprehend Sambit even after repeated notices to appear in connection with the case. According to sources, his wife also approached the State Women Commission in this regard.

Later, the Commissionerate Police issued a lookout circular against Sambit and had been monitoring his movements.
Sambit who was flying back from London was detained at Hyderabad airport and was later arrested by the Commissionerate police at Bhubaneswar airport today.
