Odia Naval employee arrested on charges of dowry torture

Bhubaneswar:  Police arrested an Odia Naval civil employee from Visakhapatnam on charges of torturing his wife physically and mentally for dowry.

The Mancheswar police here arrested Abhijit Acharya, who worked as a civil employee at the Naval Armament Depot in Visakhapatnam, on the basis of a court warrant and brought him to Bhubaneswar.

As per the complaint, Acharya had been allegedly torturing his wife demanding dowry. His wife had lodged a complaint against three members of the family at the Mahila police station.

Later, a non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued by the Bhubaneswar SDJM court.
