Puri: A three-member team of the National Security Guard (NSG) arrived in Odisha to conduct a security review of the Jagannath Temple here at Puri on Saturday.
The team of the elite anti-terrorist squad visited prominent places within the 12th century shrine including Anand Bazaar and held discussions with the officials of temple administration and police to strengthen the security of the 12th century shrine.
The reconnaissance of Jagannath temple comes in the wake of the move to prepare a joint action plan by the Union Home Ministry, Odisha police and the intelligence agencies.

Official sources said, the NSG team’s on-spot review of the strategical locations and routes around the temple assumes significance keeping in view the proposed plans for strengthening security measures in the shrine.
