Noted Odia film actress Manimala Devi critical

Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia film actress of yesteryears Manimala Devi is in critical condition at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. The 90-year-old actress has been admitted to the hospital with old-age-related complications. According to sources, the actress is in the ICU and her health condition is critical.

However, confusion over her health condition led the chief minister Naveen Patnaik tweet his condolence before her death. The CMO was quick to act on the blunder and deleted the tweet. Later on, the PRO to CM confirmed that it was a mistake.

Manimala Devi has starred in many national award winning movies including her debut movie ‘Sri Loknath.’ She has also acted in 100 plays apart from acting in 40 feature films.

She was conferred with the highest state honor to a film personality – Jayadev Puraskar - in the year 2000.
