Bhubaneswar: The depression over west central and adjoining Bay of Bengal moved in north-northeast wards and now lay centered some 150 km south-south east of Gopalpur and Paradip.
The system is very likely to move northeast wards along and off Odisha coast towards West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh coast and maintain its intensity in the next 24 hours.
Moreover, the system is likely to weaken gradually into a well marked low pressure in the next 12 hours, regional meteorological department on Saturday.
As per the latest forecast, several parts of north coastal districts of Odisha will experience rainfall during the next 12 hours. However, as the system is gradually weakening, the amount of rainfall is likely to decrease subsequently in the two days.
However, squally winds reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is likely to prevail along north Odisha and West Bengal coast during the next 12 hours.
As the sea condition is likely to remain rough, the fishermen in south and north Odisha coast have been warned not to venture the sea in the next 24 hours.
