Koraput: Refuting allegations of involvement of SOG jawans in the Kunduli gang rape, Koraput SP on Saturday said that there is no evidence so far regarding movement of SOG jawans in the area when the incident occurred.
"The probe has not established movement of any security forces in the area till date. But we have kept all angles of investigations open," said SP Kanwar Vishal Singh.
The police have found no evidence in the case and the investigation is underway, he added.
The statement of Singh came a day after BJD Dalit Cell president Bishnu Das said he suspects involvement of SOG jawans in the gang rape.
Addressing a press conference, Das had stated that based on the statements of the survivor and on spot inquiry conducted by the Dalit cell team, SOG jawans’ involvement in the gang rape incident is suspected as the accused wore military uniform and had covered their faces with black bandana.
“Other than SOG jawans no one else is involved in the gang rape and we demand a full-fledged inquiry by crime branch ADG,” said had Das.
