Bhubaneswar: Refuting the allegations circulated in media on the report of Kunduli gang rape case, the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) today once again clarified that exhibits received by the laboratory were examined in four stages with the help of latest and sophisticated equipment to check any error.
After OTV aired a news yesterday with experts stating that findings in preliminary report and final report cannot be different, the SFSL today said that confusion is being created unnecessarily to tarnish the image of the laboratory.
Through a press release, it elaborated the process of examinations conducted by experts of various sections to ensure an error free report. The release maintained that the exhibits were sent to Serology and DNA divisions first for various inter-divisional examinations. The final report was drafted by the Biology division after the reports from Serology and DNA sections came in.
The laboratory authorities, who claimed the disputed inter-divisional report aired on TV was not the final one, stated through the release that the DNA profiling technique was conducted with latest, sophisticated equipment to prevent any glitch.
“In the current case, the final examination report has focussed more on the results of DNA profiling technique conducted through latest, sophisticated and internationally validated equipment free from human error. Therefore, we refute the allegation circulated by a section of media over the final examination report,” the release read.
It further maintained that the final report was submitted to the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Jeypore after getting nod from the director of SFSL.
