Balasore: Authorities of the Nilagiri College in Balasore district declared the college closed sine die today following students' unrest over the college foundation day celebration.
Sources said, students of the college have been staging a dharna in front of the Principal's chamber for the last two days over some issues relating to cultural programmes for the foundation day celebrations. The college authorities had written a letter to the Higher Education Department in this regard.
As per the direction of the Higher Education Department, the college authorities closed the college sine die, said Principal Manoranjan Panda.
On the other hand, the students who went to the college this morning without any prior knowledge about the sine die had to return. They stated that with a few days left for semesters, the sine die would affect their studies.
