Newborn boy found wrapped in bag in Mayurbhanj

Baripada: A newborn boy was found wrapped in a bag at Badadeuli under Suliapada Police Station in Mayurbhanj district on Monday.

Eyewitnesses said a man covered the infant in a bag and tied it to a roadside tree before fleeing the spot. Later, locals traced the baby from inside the bag after hearing his scream. He was admitted to a local health centre and later shifted to district headquarters hospital.

His health condition is being examined. The hospital authorities informed officials of the District Child Protection Unit.

The identity of the baby is yet to be established.
