Malkangiri: Protesting against the joint operation of the Odisha and Andhra Pradesh police in the cut-off area of Malkangiri district on October 24, Maoists on Wednesday held a ‘Prajameli’ meeting at the remote areas of Vishakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh bordering Malkangiri.
More than hundred supporters of Rayat Kuli Sangh organisation attended the meeting and paid homage to the 30 naxals killed during the joint operation of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh police. They shouted slogans supporting naxalism while condemning the action of the security personnel of both the states.
Talking to newsmen about the steps taken by the district police, Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra said, “As people’s support to Maoists is declining, the naxals organised the rally against the government after bringing together locals while inducing fear factor in them. It was the last effort of naxals to gather the people’s support.”
