Motor launch stir hits communication in Chitrakonda cut-off areas

Chitrakonda: Residents of Panasput, Jodamba, Andapali panchayats in Malkangiri district had a tough time today after a strike by contractual staff engaged in motor launch operation disrupted communication services to the cut-off areas of Chitrakonda.

The protestors have been demanding regularization of jobs and hike in salary.

The agitating staff alleged that they have been providing uninterrupted services for years. But their jobs are yet to be regularized while they are being paid a meager salary.

The employees are also demanding that recruitment of staff which has been kept on hold since 2012 should be resumed at the earliest.
