More than 400 fall ill after consuming food at marriage feast

Umerkote: More than 400 persons including women and children fell ill after consuming food at a marriage feast at Jodajonga DNK village under Raighar block in Nabarangpur district today.

While some sick are undergoing treatment at the Hataurandi and Jodinga health centres, others are undergoing treatment under supervision of a special team of doctors at the village.

Only those villagers, who had consumed non-vegetarian items at the feast yesterday organised by a local resident Biren Gharani on the occasion of his son’s marriage, complained of nausea, vomiting and loose motion.

The sick were immediately admitted to the two health centres whereas the administration sent a special team of doctors to the village to treat others.
