Bhubaneswar: While the southwest monsoon has triggered moderate to heavy rainfall in most parts of Odisha, the Met office has predicted increased rainfall in the state from June 25 onwards.
Talking to OTV today, Dr Sarat Chandra Sahu, Director, Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, said rainfall activity would continue in the coastal districts of Odisha in the next 2-3 days till June 21 under the influence of a trough line over Rajasthan across the central Bay of Bengal and formation of a cyclonic circulation over the neighbouring Telengana.
“Though there would be less rainfall in the state for the next couple of days till June 24, the rainfall would increase after June 25,” Sahu informed.
He, however, said there has been 25 percent of less rainfall recorded in Odisha from June 1 till date.
