Bhubaneswar: More and more properties of scam-tainted Oscar chit fund company are being traced out by the Crime Branch. After locating five properties in Gujarat, the Crime Branch sleuths have traced two properties of the company in Maharashtra. Moreover, in the course of investigation, a bank deposit worth Rs 1 crore has been traced.
While three cases of financial fraud of more than Rs 15 crore are pending against Prabhas and his company in Gujarat, two cases against him are pending in Odisha.
On the fourth day today, Prabhas underwent a marathon interrogation by the Crime Branch Special DG BK Sharma and IG Arun Bothra. The interrogation has revealed his links with the Odia film industry, Ollywood.
According to sources, transactions worth crores have been identified involving the chit fund and various persons including popular cine stars. Prabhas has been involved in production of four Odia films which includes stars like Anubhav Mohanty, Papu Pampam, and Siddhant among others. Moreover, the stage shows sponsored by Oscar chit fund have featured actors like Uttam Mohanty, Papu Pampam and some actresses as well.
Sources informed it is more than likely that the Crime Branch sleuths will interrogate Ollywood stars in this connection.
With new information surfacing about the links of Oscar chit fund, the Crime Branch will seek 5-7 days’ remand of Prabhas Rout, informed sources. Moreover, a team led by a DSP is likely to visit Gujarat to probe the matter and the properties of Oscar chit fund.
