Bhubaneswar: Total 14 bills were passed during monsoon session of the Odisha Assembly which concluded today.
On the last day of the session, a bill tabled on pay hike of legislators and ministers was passed in the House following a minor amendment. With the amendment, monthly allowance of former legislators was hiked to Rs 30,000 from Rs 25,000.
The monsoon session which began on September 7 was mostly stormy over several issues.
While Opposition tried to corner BJD over the flyover collapse in Bomikhal and negligence towards farmers, ruling party and Congress members created ruckus over the fuel price rise.
The eight-day session had six official and two private members day.
