Athagarh: Two unidentified miscreants looted cash worth Rs 50,000 from an employee of a private finance company this morning.
According to reports, Shantanu Kumar Rout, credit assistant of Spandana Shrusti Finance, had gone to Rekelapada and Nuabandha areas for collection of money. After collecting the money, he was on the way to Athagarh when two miscreants came in a bike and asked him to stop his bike. But as Rout did not stop his bike, the duo kicked his bike sideways. As a result, he fell down from the bike which skidded off the road and fell inside a roadside ditch.
“After I got up, they put a pistol on my head and took away the cash bag which had a cash of Rs 49, 676. Then they asked me to give my wallet. As I was taking out the purse from my pocket, one of them hit my head on the butt of the pistol. Later the duo fled the area,” Rout said, adding that he has lodged a complaint with the Athagarh police.
Acting on the complaint, police has begun a manhunt to nab the two miscreants.
