Rourkela: Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 25 lakh on gunpoint from a cash van near Sorada under Bisra police limits in Rourkela yesterday.
According to reports, four bike borne miscreants looted the cash after intercepting the cash van of State Bank of India (SBI) and terrorizing the staff on gunpoint.
The incident occurred at around 9 pm yesterday when the personnel of the cash van were on their way to load cash in ATM counter.

Sources said, the miscreants were heavily armed with firearms and other weapons. After snatching the rifle of the security guard of the cash van, the miscreants decamped from the spot.
Police suspects the involvement of PLFI members while a detailed probe is on to ascertain why the cash was being transported during night.
The officials of the bank as well as other personnel of the cash van are also being interrogated, police said.
