Balasore: In yet another incident of robbery that has raised questions on the safety of railway commuters, unidentified miscreants intoxicated an elderly man and looted cash from him near Soro railway station of Balasore district on Saturday.
The old man, Baikunth Gocchayat (55) has been identified to be a resident of Sirapur village in Soro.
According to sources, Baikunth had boarded the Howrah-Puri Express today at Howrah station and was about to reach his destination when a few miscreants intoxicated and looted Rs 20,000 from him.

GRP personnel rescued Baikunth in a critical condition and admitted him to Soro Community Health Centre where he is undergoing treatment.

"The robbers have reportedly looted Rs 20000 cash from him. Baikunth’s condition is still critical,” said a fellow passenger.
