Jeypore: A banner, suspected to have been put up by Maoists have surfaced at Nilabadi under Bandhugaan block here in Koraput district threatening the son of a local ward member to kill him.
The banner, which was found put up at the gate of Nilabadi panchayat office in the name of Koraput-Srikakulam division of CPI (Maoist), also threatened the elected representatives to stop the projects undertaken by panchayat.
"Asish Senapati (son of ward member) is indulging in the liquor business thereby ruining the life of innocent tribals. Being aware of his business, the sarpanch has awarded him various project works. If he does not give up the works, we would eliminate him", the banner read.
It also called upon the people to strongly oppose the selling of liquor in the region.
