Man shows up naked in front of Utkal Varsity girls; triggers outrage

Bhubaneswar: Tension erupted at Utkal University in Bhubaneswar today after an unidentified miscreant allegedly showed up naked in front of two girl students of the university inside the campus premises.

According to sources, an unclad man suddenly appeared before the girls while they were coming into the varsity campus through the gate near Acharya Vihar square. Moreover, the miscreant allegedly made indecent gestures towards them as well.

“I was totally shocked after seeing the man in such a state. I was really scared and started crying. Then I called up my friends and came to the Vice Chancellor (VC)’s office,” said a victim girl.

As per students, even though a complaint was lodged with the varsity administration to look into matter, neither the VC nor the authorities showed any concern. Irate over the callousness of the administration, students staged a dharna in front of VC's office.

Coming to know about the protests, police arrived at the spot and launched a probe into the matter. However, the accused is yet to be tracked.
