Man kills wife, surrenders before police

Paradip: In a gruesome act, a man killed his wife and then burnt her body at Biswali village near the port town on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Amita Parida.

According to sources, Prakash, husband of Amita, strangulated her to death and then burnt the body by pouring kerosene on it in a bid to destroy evidence. Later, he dumped the burnt body in a toilet, the sources added.

But when the matter came to fore, Prakash surrendered before the Lock police.

On being informed about the incident, police and scientific team rushed to the spot. Police has seized the body and sent it for autopsy.
