Khurda: Panic gripped Khurda town this afternoon after a man fired at his father-in-law inside the chamber of an advocate critically injuring him in the process.
The seriously injured client, identified as Kantha Jena of Sorana area of the district, was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
Reports said Jena had come to the house of an advocate at Tala Sahi area of the town this afternoon to discuss a case of dowry torture of his daughter by his son-in-law.
While the discussion was going on, Jena’s son-in-law suddenly barged into the chamber of the advocate and opened fire at him.
Jena, who sustained bullet injury on his head, was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition.
Meanwhile, hearing the gunshot, locals rushed to the spot and overpowered the son-in-law. Following information, Town Police rushed to the spot and arrested him.
