Man hacked to death in Balasore

Balasore: A youth was allegedly hacked to death by an unknown miscreant at Naharapatana under Sadar police station in Balasore district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Ranjan Nayak of Godhibasa in the district.

Sources said when Nayak was returning home, a miscreant hacked him to death with a sharp weapon. Being informed, police rushed to spot and seized a chopper and a helmet from the spot.

Police have started investigation into the incident and detained a person in this connection.
