Khurda: Amidst the ongoing chaos at banks to get rid of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, a depositor from Khurda was caught while trying to exchange fake currency notes. The accused has been identified as Sumit Kumar Tudu, who is said to be an engineering student and the son of Jagat Kumar Majhi, the Assistant manager of Manpur State Bank of India Branch in Ali, Kendrapara.

According to sources, out of Rs 2.5 Lakh worth of currency notes being exchanged by Sumit, Rs 47, 000 worth of notes were found to be counterfeit.
