Bhubaneswar: The State Social Welfare Board (SSWB), on Wednesday, organized a National Convention at the KIIT auditorium here in Bhubaneswar to pay tribute to the fearless freedom fighter and founder chairperson of SSWB, Malati Choudhury on her 113th birth anniversary.
Women and Child Development Minister Prafulla Samal inaugurated the convention and released a documentary and souvenir ‘Numa’ dedicated to Malati Choudhury.
MP Prassana Patasani, KIIT and KISS founder Achyuta Samant, SSWB Ex-Chairperson and W&CD Commissioner-Cum-Secretary Kuntala Kumari Acharya and Chairperson Latika Pradhan graced the occasion.
The main theme during the panel discussion and deliberation was 'CSR for the Empowerment of Women & Child and Social Welfare Board in India', where eminent media persons, philanthropists and social activists participated and shared their knowledge.
Besides, other eminent dignitaries, Ex-Chairpersons of Odisha SSWB and 8 Chairpersons of the SSWB of 8 states of India were felicitated during the event for their unparalleled service to the society.
