Baripada: Families of three malaria patients created ruckus at the Dukura Community Health Centre in Mayurbhanj district after they alleged that the patients were administered expired saline during treatment.
According to sources, three malaria patients, Maieen Tudu, Basanti Sardar and Sabita Bindhani, were admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night. The doctors at the hospital administered saline to three of them. Soon after that, the three complained of suffocation and swollen body.
A relative of one of the patients noticed that the saline being administered was outdated. The families then raised the issue and created a ruckus over the medical negligence.
The acquaintances of the patients alleged that the doctors administered saline that had expired since January. However, the hospital authorities took way the saline bottles after a complaint was made.
