Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed the district collectors to extend 'Madhubabu Pension Scheme' to three lakh more beneficiaries from August 15.

The district collectors must ensure that the people get pension under the social security scheme on time, he said.

While 47 lakh people have already been covered under the 'Madhubabu Pension Scheme', the number of beneficiaries will increase to 50 lakh from August 15.

Speaking to the officers through video conferencing, Patnaik told them to double the number of completed houses under the rural housing scheme.

Noting that 84,000 houses under rural housing scheme have been completed in this fiscal so far, he directed the district collectors to complete 1,500 houses every day which is now going at 701 houses per day.

Patnaik also directed the collectors to complete the houses built under 'Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana' for construction workers and also in mining areas.

The Chief Minister said the houses for construction workers and people in minning areas should be completed by October 2.
