Bhubaneswar: The local Met office today predicted rainfall in most parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours under the influence of a well-marked low pressure.

“A low pressure area, which was formed over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast at 8:30 AM on May 14 and turned into a well marked low pressure area over the same area at 8:30 AM yesterday, has moved slightly towards north-west and is lying over Sri Lanka and adjoining Gulf of Mannar and south-west Bay of Bengal at 8:30 AM today with the associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 3.6 km above mean sea level. The system is likely to move north-northwest and concentrate into a depression during next 48 hours,” a release by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, said this morning.
