Low pressure to trigger heavy rains in interior Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The local Met office has forecast heavy rainfall in interior Odisha in next 24 hours under the influence of a low pressure.

A Met release this afternoon said the low pressure lying over west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Andhra Pradesh yesterday has moved to north coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal today with the associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above the mean sea level and tilting southwards.

Under its influence, rain or thunder shower is likely to occur at a few places over Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places over interior areas of the state during next 24 hours, the release added.
