Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has predicted heavy rain across Odisha in the next 24 hours.

As per the latest bulletin issued by the met office, a low pressure has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at few places with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places in districts of North and South Odisha in the next 24hours.

Fishermen have also been warned not to venture into the sea in South Odisha as strong and gusty winds with a speed ranging from 45-50 kmph to 60 kmph will prevail along and off the coast.

The sea condition is also likely to be rough in the next 24 hours, the met department’s bulletin said.
