Sambalpur: The DNA test of a baby boy, who was rescued from Bargarh on Sunday, will be conducted soon, police informed. The test will ascertain whether he is the same child who was stolen from Sambalpur hospital on April 23.
According to reports, Sambalpur police rescued the infant from a couple of Bargarh which claims to have adopted the baby from someone within its family.
"We rescued the baby from Bargarh and his DNA test would be conducted soon to find out whether it is the same baby stolen from the Sambalpur hospital," said Sambalpur SP Sanjeev Arora.
Despite not getting any assurance, the parents of the baby stolen away from Sambalpur hospital are still hopeful of getting their son back and have stayed put at the hospital.
On March 23, the newborn son of Gitanjali Majhi of Amlapali village under Jujumara block in Sambalpur was stolen from the Obstetrics and Gynaecology ward of the Sambalpur Sadar hospital. Though the CCTV camera of the hospital had captured footage of a woman covered with a bedsheet, who was suspected to have stolen the child, police are yet to locate the woman and the baby so far.
