Locals protest toll collection on incomplete roads in Odisha

Anandpur: A forum under the banner of development council of Anandpur today opposed collection of toll fees at Hasanpur on the National Highway -20 between Anandpur and Jajpur.

Questioning how the NHAI authorities could collect toll charges while the road work is incomplete, the agitators stopped collection of toll at the toll gate.

The incident also led to a scuffle between the agitators and the police.

Moreover, locals also staged a road blockade protesting toll collection from vehicles even though the road construction is yet to be completed.
