Pipili: Vehicular traffic was disrupted between Puri and Bhubaneswar today after locals blocked the NH-316 near Gudiapokhari Chhak protesting the Laxminarayanpur sarpanch thrashing incident.
The agitators including women squatted on the NH-316 and did not allow a single vehicle to ply on the road opposing yesterday’s incident in which the Laxminarayanpur sarpanch was beaten up at the block office.
The locals claimed that the sarpanch was thrashed at the block office for alleging irregularities in the subsidised food supply.
