Lawyers observe Athagarh bandh demanding sub-jail relocation

Athagarh: Normal life was affected in Athagarh as vehicles stayed off the roads and shops were shut due to an eight-hour bandh observed by the local bar association demanding relocation of the sub-jail from Choudwar.

The strike received support from local bus association and other social outfits as well.

Members of the bar association demanded that the sub-jail, which was shifted to Choudwar for repair work two years ago, be relocated back to Athagarh.

The lawyers claimed though the repair work was completed five months back, the jail is yet to be brought back to Athagarh. They further stated that the locals face difficulties in visiting their relatives who have been lodged in the sub-jail.
